The third installment of the Now That’s What I Call Music! series has been released in the United States under the title Now That’s What I Call Music! 3. It was made available for purchase on December 7, 1999, and it made its debut on the Billboard 200 albums list at position number nine. The RIAA has awarded it the status of 2 Platinum for its achievement.

Single-disc CD compilations of Now That’s What I Call Music 8 (17 tracks) and Now That’s What I Call Music 9 (16 tracks) were made available for purchase in the years 1986 and 1987, respectively. Now 1 was made available on CD in the form of a “Special Collectors Edition” in 2009 as a digipak, 2015 as an album in a jewel case, and again in 2018 as an album in a digipak.
- Although vinyl versions of the main series were discontinued in 1996 with the publication of Now That’s What I Call Music! 35, spin-offs such as NOW presents the 70s are scheduled for reissue by Sony/EMI in 2021 as part of a five-LP vinyl boxset.
- Now That’s What I Call Music was the first album to be released on MiniDisc.43 in the year 1999 and concluded with the show “Now That’s What I Call Music!” 48 in 2001.
- Now That’s What I Call Music! 62 was the first Now album to be made available for purchase as a digital download in 2005 through all of the various online music retailers.
- The production of cassette tapes was discontinued in 2006, and the last cassette released was Now That’s What I Call Music! 64,
- There were companion VHS videos made for all of the Now! albums beginning with the first volume and continuing through Now That’s What I Call Music! 20, with the exception of Now! The 19th edition of That’s What I Call Music. They included music videos, some of which were for songs that were included on the album that accompanied them, while others were for songs that were not included on the album. Some of the early volumes were also made available on Betamax, and laserdiscs were made available for some of the volumes at a later time.
